HoustonTXSW 2011

HoustonTXSW* supports and promotes Houston's creative community -- highlighting its film, interactive/tech, and music talent -- by bringing them together and spotlighting Houston at a single event during the annual SXSW conference in Austin. Started in 2009, HoustonTXSW has grown exponentially, along with the vibrant community it supports. This year, we partnered up with C2 Creative (501c3) to raise awareness and money for their Creative Incubator program!

On March 14 @ Republic Live Austin, we'll have a three-ring circus lined up for you, including:

• 4pm-6pm : HOUSTON FILM TALKS & SCREENINGS (click here for schedule)
  
• 6pm-8pm : HOUSTON INTERACTIVE MIXER Presented by PKF TEXAS
  
• 8pm-12am : HOUSTON MULTIMEDIA & LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES
  

• 10 General Passes to Free Press SummerFest awarded randomly throughout the evening
• 2 Fancy Pants VIP Passes to Free Press SummerFest raffled off to benefit C2 Creative
• Emerging Filmmaker Film screenings and interviews, curated by Alfred Cervantes of the Houston Film Commission and Michelle Mower of SWAMP (SouthWest Alternate Media Project)
• Film projections curated by Aurora Picture Show
• Design elements by AIGA Houston and Primer Grey
• Interactive mixer, presented by PKF Texas, the preferred accounting firm of HoustonTXSW
• Interactive visualizations and multimedia projections by Culture Pilot
• Tech talks with Brenden Macaluso of Recompute and Interactive StartUps TBA
• Interactive street marketing by The Black Sheep Agency and The Loop Scoop* Live multimedia/music performance by Two Star Symphony
• Mashups of Houston Music Top 10 lists from music mavens at the Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, Free Press Houston, Space City Rock, ZenHill Records…coordinated by Andrew Karnavas and re/mixed by Houston rockstar DJs including DJ Riddler, Dave Wrangler and Jeremy Keas
• Live performances by Houston bands, selected by a panel of Houston music critics:

• 8pm : HILARY SLOAN
• 9pm : ROKY MOON AND BOLT!
• 10pm : MASON LANKFORD & THE FOLK FAMILY REVIVAL
• 11pm : CO-PILOT
